Committee Information
Following is a list of the current NSGC/NMA Committees
and their tasks. We're always on the look out for new committee
members. If you'd like to volunteer your services with any of the
following committees, please contact the appropriate Committee Chairperson(s)
shown in the Executive Board listing.
Executive Board: Comprised of President, President
Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, Past President, National Director,
Associate Directors and the Chairs of the committees. The Board
meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. Meetings last
1 to 1½ hours. Each month the chapter reviews the activities
of each committee, the budget, and discusses future plans.
Program Committee: Responsible for scheduling
the monthly program meetings which includes determining locations,
menus and speakers. Each committee member has the opportunity to
create an entertaining and educational meeting.
Public Relations Committee: Responsible for
development of the monthly newsletter, photography at special events,
general publicity of the organization and Web site maintenance.
Member Relations Committee: Responsible for
review of member applications, recruitment and orientation of new
members, assisting with EXPO registration, preparing resolution
and proclamation documents.
Leadership Development Committee: Develops
special workshops and classes on an ongoing basis. One of the key
functions in NMA is professional growth through continuing education.
Calling Committee: Responsible for calling
NSGC/NMA members for program reservations.
EXPO Committee: Responsible for organizing
and developing the annual one day training seminar held in October
of each year. This is where your organizing skills begin to shine.
Many NSGC/NMA members help out in sub-committee work and many more
state employees attend.
Special Projects Committee: Responsible for
special projects which do not fit within regular committee responsibilities.
Examples include the American Enterprise Speech Contest, youth leadership
activities, and community service projects. Our goal is for our
NMA Chapter to provide needed community service and to become more
recognizable as a group in the community.
Awards Committee: We all like to receive recognition
for a job well done. This committee is responsible for ensuring
the Chapter and Chapter members receive proper recognition for activities
throughout the year.
Finance Committee: Meeting quarterly, this
committee oversees the budget and advises the Executive Board on
expenses and income throughout the year.
